When the tunnel boring machine (TBM) is used for construction of subway tunnel, railway tunnel, water tunnel and urban underground pipeline network, the central fishtail cutter is installed in the central part of cutter head. It has larger dimensions, and protrudes all other tools on the cutter head; the cutting head is cone-shaped. When tunneling, the advancing cutting head central part tightly presses the center of excavation working face, playing of role of centering against the rotating cutter head. Along with rotation of the cutter head, the muck cut down by the cone-shaped fishtail cutter enters into the soil silo after being overturned by the conical surface of fishtail cutter. Wear resistant layer is overlaid on the body of fishtail cutter.
