Additional Information

When the tunnel boring machine (TBM) is used for construction of subway tunnel, railway tunnel, water tunnel and urban underground pipeline network, the side scrapper is installed on the outer ring of cutter head and used to remove the muck in the outermost ring of the working face (the working face which is constantly pushed ahead along with adit excavation). Since the track diameter cut by the side scrapper is slightly smaller than the excavation tunnel diameter of shield, which is 30-50mm greater than the outer diameter of cutter head, the cutter head outer edge can be well protected from wearing.
