PCD is the diamond and carbide composite material produced by HTHP method. The polycrystalline diamond layer has high hardness and abrasion resistance whereas the tungsten carbide substrate would greatly improve the malleability and weld ability of the whole composite. It is used in cutting application. Diamond grain sizes from 2 micron to 25 micron.
